This course emphasizes the social behaviour and cognitions of the individual in social context. Central topics dealt with from this perspective include social perception and impression formation; attitudes, beliefs, and values; prejudice and discrimination; and the formation and function of the social self. Other relevant topics include sex and gender roles and differences; moral judgment; social development, and social psychology applied to health, law, and justice. Theories and methodology relevant to this orientation and these topics will be examined.

PSYC-1000 (prerequisite).
