This course is concerned with the management of the function of creating and providing the goods and services aimed at meeting and satisfying customer needs. Modern topics such as continuous quality improvement, value chain analysis, benchmarking, just-in-time management, new technology and process/product flexibility will be covered as also will several traditional and micro-management topics such as process control and capability, demand forecasting, production and capacity planning, scheduling and inventory control. Quantitative models, techniques and analysis will be introduced where appropriate. 3 lecture hours per week, one term.

16:151 with "C+" or better grade and one of the following: 62:171 STAT, 16:250, 90:293, 90:294.
