This course provides senior stream students with an overview of the current assessment techniques used in senior- and middle-years educational settings today. Students learn about the principles of fair assessment, ethical protocol in conducting classroom-based assessments and assessment of inquiry, types of assessment materials available, research properties of assessment, and relative advantages and disadvantages of various assessment techniques. This course emphasizes the theory and research available for conducting fair assessments and reporting information that is useful for enhancing students' educational experiences.
